FAQ FOR FRONT-LINE

Question

Answer

Will GO Transit be adjusting schedules to and from CNE?

Yes!  We’re adjusting train service along Lakeshore West and Lakeshore East to help you GO to the CNE!

Please see the Appendix for all the adjustments to travel to and from the CNE on the Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West and Stouffville lines.

Are there discounts or partnership perks with CNE?

When you ride GO, you can save on your CNE admission with PRESTO. Simply tap your PRESTO card when you ride GO and enjoy a discounted ticket price for the CNE.

If you’re looking to redeem this perk when buying your ticket online, make sure you select it from the option on the CNE webpage. When buying your tickets, you’ll be directed to enter your PRESTO card number, and from there you’ll be able to take advantage of some serious savings!

Will GO Transit be on-site at the CNE?

With the CNE returning, the GO Transit team is participating with an on-site activation near the Midway.

Here are the details:

  • The team will be on site each day of the event, from Aug 21 – Sep 7
  • A fully wrapped GO Bus, featuring a creative wrapper inspired by the Kids GO Free policy, will be on site for visitors to tour

Brand ambassadors and GO Bear will be there to greet and engage with visitors.

How much are kids GO tickets?

Remember kids 12 and under always ride free with GO!

We’ve introduced fare discounts for teens and post-secondary students travelling on GO Transit and UP Express with PRESTO. Youth (ages 13-19) and full-time post-secondary students (any age) save 40% off the full adult fare with PRESTO. To set up a youth or post-secondary fare, customers need to have a GO Student ID. Learn about how to get one here.

Can I use a Weekend or Weekday Group Pass to get to the EX?

GO Transit wants to help make your journey as easy and affordable as possible with Weekend and Weekday Group Passes – Plus, Kids GO Free!

  • GO Transit’s Weekend Day Pass is a $10 One-Day pass, valid for travel either on Saturday, Sunday, or on a Holiday only. The pass is available online only – not at stations or by using PRESTO. Be sure to activate your weekend pass at least five minutes before you board.
  • Weekday Group Passes allow for two to five people travelling together unlimited travel in one day between two specified GO fare zones. The group pass must be purchased on the day of travel from a station ambassador or ticket vending machine.

Are veterans allowed to ride free on August 22?

On Saturday, August 22, we’re showing our appreciation by offering veterans and one companion and currently serving members of the Canadian military free travel on the GO train, GO bus or UP Express to this year’s Warriors’ Day Parade at the CNE.

Are strollers allowed on the GO Train?

If you’re bringing a stroller on a GO train, please use one that can be folded and easily stowed, instead of bulkier/wagon styles if you are able. With so many people using GO to get to the CNE, space is limited; courtesy and consideration will help make it a comfortable and safe ride for everyone. To help make your journey easier, we’ve removed the metal pole from the middle of one doorway on each coach, providing you with more space to board and exit the train with your stroller.
